Comparing fractions isn’t as easy as a comparing regular numbers.
To compare fractions there are 2 main Strategies, Cross Multiplying and Decimal Division.
For example, let’s see which fraction is bigger. 4/6 or 3/10
Step 1:
Multiply The denominator of one fraction with the numerator of the other fraction
Step 2:
Multiply the denominator of the other fraction with the numerator of the fraction on the left.
Step 3:
Now you should 2 new numbers (10 x 4 = 40 and 6 x3 = 18). 40 is larger than 18 so 4/6 is the greater fraction.
